George Romero 1940 – 2017

I hate it when you wake up and find out another shining star has gone out. This morning it was the news that the Godfather of the Living Dead, George Romero, died on Sunday at the age of 77.

I’m an old fan of horror movies and have been ever since I saw Vincent Price in “Cry of the Banshee” when I was 13. See, I said I was an old fan. The only Romero film I haven’t seen yet is the original “The Crazies“, which came out in 1973 and was remade in 2010 with G.R. as executive producer.

How many film makers can you think of who singlehandedly created a movie genre? Rest in peace George. Who knows, maybe, like your creations, we’ll be seeing you again.
